    Default 1st gas eng;

    Well, i went off the deep end and bought my first small gas engine Zanoah g-26ei. Anyone want to tell me what a big mistake i made. How about some of you giving me some pro's and con's,any tips i need to know? What should i expect out of it. I am putting it in a Cessna 182, the 95" one. Thats what it called for so thats what it is getting.
    Thanks.

    Joe.

    Thumbs up

    Mr. JK

    Glad to see you back on the forums.

    As you well know I ran one of these jewels on a Funtana X100 for over a year and the engine is bullet proof, It's was more power than the 72" bird really needed, but a blast to fly.

    I broke the engine in on Lawnboy Ashless oil at a 32:1 mix. After the break in I ran Pennzoil Aircool at a 40:1 mix and never had one moment of heat problems or anything else.

    The only drawback on the EI version is is it's battery consumption. The factory ignition pulls 2.5 amps at full throttle. Of course Joe you wont be flying the 182 the way I was flying the Funtana, but if you find it drawing to much current per flight there is a company called CH Ignitions that sells their EI system for $95 that includes module, sensor and bracket or $80 w/o sensor, I recommend using their sensor.

    This was my two cents worth on your engine and I don't think you made a bad decision at all.
